The Route

DAY 1 - London to Marlborough | 61.1 miles | 688m elevation | TCX File | ROUTE

We’ll meet at Alexandra Park, Windsor, from 8.15 am and set off at 9.15 am. Let us know if you need any assistance with your bike or bags as we’d be happy to help.

There are frequent stops and the pace is gentle to give us the opportunity to get into the challenge. It won’t take too long for us to wind our way out of London and enter the peace and quiet of the Berkshire countryside. The morning ride will take us via Winnersh, Mortimer, and Newbury, where we’ll stop for a well-earned lunch.

After lunch, we’ll continue our journey to Marlborough, but it is less than 25 miles! After cycling through some stunning Wiltshire villages we will take a break outside Hungerford, before cycling the final 12 miles to Marlborough, completing day one!

Upon arrival in Marlborough, you’ll be able to check in to the hotel, freshen up and relax, we’ll look after your bike. At 7.00pm we’ll all meet in the hotel reception, go for our evening meal and no doubt reflect on the first day of cycling.

Day 2 is our longest day of cycling. We’ll start at 7.15 am heading out of Marlborough through the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. The views are truly breathtaking and do look out for the hillside White Horses. After 22 miles, we will stop for breakfast at Erlestoke Golf Club.

After breakfast, the roads do get busier as we cycle through Westbury, Frome towards our lunch stop, The Seymour Arms, Witham Friary. Our guides will take you all through the busier sections.

After lunch, we’ll continue our journey, taking breaks in Castle Cary, Somerton and Stoke St. Gregory. You will now be in touching distance of Taunton and completing the biggest part of the challenge.

Upon arrival in Taunton, we’ll check into our hotel and have an evening in the Beefeater restaurant, where you’ll also have the chance to enjoy some food and drinks (not too many!) before you sink into bed ahead of our final day, the ride to Torquay!

DAY 3 - Taunton to Torquay, 68.3 miles | 1,014m Elevation | TCX File | ROUTE

This is it, the last day, just a few more miles to complete the challenge. After breakfast and aim to set off by 8.00 am. There are a few hills to conquer on this leg, but by now you’ll be ready for them.

As we cycle through Somerset we will cross the M5 motorway and ride between the villages of Culmstock, Uffculme, and Whimpole. We will then drop down through Cranbrook to pick up the cycle path to Exeter.

After 48 miles we will have covered a large chunk of the days riding and will stop for lunch in Starcross. Following lunch, we will have just over 20 miles to go. The last leg of the journey will take us through the coastal villages of Dawlish & Teignmouth before we cross the River Exe at Shaldon and head towards Newton Abbott.

After Newton Abbott, Torquay will really be in our sights, less than five miles away. We will ride this section as a group at a slower pace, your guides will be on hand to help you through the busier sections.
